Blue Bell Ice Cream returns to Kansas City and surrounding area today

BRENHAM, Texas, March 18, 2019 – Blue Bell Ice Cream will be available in grocery stores in Kansas City and the surrounding area beginning Monday, March 18. (Cities listed below.)

“We are glad to be back and excited to be in a position to expand our sales territory,” said Jimmy Lawhorn, vice president, sales and marketing for Blue Bell. “There have been countdowns on social media and a great deal of anticipation from ice cream fans waiting to see our products at their local stores. We are extremely thankful for the warm response from so many of them.”

Blue Bell has reopened its distribution facility located in Kansas City to service the area. “We have around 15 employees on staff at this time,” Lawhorn said. “Initially, we will bring in additional employees from other states to help with the opening.  It could take up to two weeks to deliver our products to every store that is selling Blue Bell.”

Ice cream fans can look for Blue Bell at Hy-Vee, Price Chopper, Walmart and most major grocery stores.  If you cannot find Blue Bell in the ice cream section, be sure to check with the store personnel.

Blue Bell offers a complete line-up of products including more than 40 flavors of ice cream, Light and No Sugar Added selections, sherbet and frozen snacks. The company’s most popular flavor, since it was released in 1969, is Homemade Vanilla. This year Blue Bell will celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Homemade Vanilla. The ice cream is described as a rich, homemade-tasting vanilla ice cream with a special hand-cranked flavor that some say is the best in the country.
