Half gallons and ice cream cups must be ordered in multiples of four, while pints must be ordered in multiples of six. Product categories cannot be combined within a single order.

Ground shipping is included in the listed price. All prices exclude applicable taxes and may change without notice.

Orders process within 1–5 business days and ground shipments typically arrive within 1–3 business days, depending on the destination. Customers may upgrade to expedited shipping—either next-day or 2-day air, based on location—for an additional $65 per bundle. Orders to Alaska and Hawaii are not eligible for ground service and must be shipped via an expedited method. Please refer to the chart below for additional details and pricing.

Shipping Policies

Ice cream orders ship Monday through Thursday only. To ensure product quality, shipments cannot remain in transit over the weekend. As a result, deliveries do not occur on Sundays, Mondays, or certain holidays. With ground shipping, deliveries typically arrive between Tuesday and Friday.

Orders shipped via ground service generally require up to 5 business days (Monday–Thursday) for processing after purchase. If the estimated transit time extends beyond the remaining shipping days in the week, the order may be held and shipped the following Monday.

For example, orders placed after 12:00 p.m. CT on Tuesday may not ship until the following week if 3 day ground shipping is selected. Once shipped, ground deliveries arrive within 1–3 business days. (Please refer to the map below for estimated ground transit times.)

Expedited orders typically require up to 2 business days (Monday–Thursday) for processing. Orders placed before 12:00 p.m. CT will ship the next business day. Orders placed after 12:00 p.m. CT will ship on the second business day following purchase. Orders placed after 12:00 p.m. CT on Wednesday may not ship until the following Monday.

Expedited shipments are sent via next-day air or 2-day air, depending on destination.

To help ensure successful delivery, please provide a complete and accurate shipping address at checkout. Due to the highly perishable nature of ice cream, we cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes, APO, or FPO addresses.

Once an order is placed, we are unable to change the delivery address or cancel the order. Additionally, we are not responsible for lost or melted products if the delivery location is changed during transit, including redirection to a carrier facility, retail location, or any alternate address.

Currently, we do not ship to U.S. territories or international destinations.

Blue Bell is not responsible for delays or damages caused by events beyond our control, including weather conditions or natural disasters.

We are also unable to accept requests for delivery on a specific date, and we cannot guarantee delivery by a particular day or time for either residential or commercial shipments.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the ice cream kept frozen during shipping?

Ice cream is packed in insulated coolers inside a shipping box and includes enough dry ice to keep the product frozen through the evening of the delivery date. We recommend opening the package immediately upon delivery and placing the ice cream in your freezer. Gloves should be worn, and caution used, when handling dry ice.

You may notice slight shrinkage or separation between the carton and lid due to the extreme cold from the dry ice. Changes in atmospheric pressure or altitude during transit may also cause the ice cream to contract or expand. These conditions are normal and do not affect product quality or taste.

Ice cream may arrive extremely hard. For best texture, allow it to temper in your freezer for up to 24 hours before serving.

Why does shipping ice cream cost more than store pricing?

Ice cream requires specialized shipping due to its perishable nature. This includes insulated packaging, protective materials, and dry ice to maintain frozen temperatures. These factors, along with the weight of the product, contribute to higher online pricing compared to instore purchases.

What flavors are available online?

We offer a rotating selection of half gallon, pint, and cup flavors throughout the year. Some seasonal flavors may be available online but not in stores. Some seasonal flavors may be available online but not in stores.

Can I send ice cream as a gift?

Yes, Blue Bell Ice Cream makes a great gift. Because it is perishable, please ensure the recipient will be available to receive the delivery. Blue Bell is not responsible for loss, damage, or theft due to unavailable recipients, incorrect address information, or unattended deliveries.

A personal gift message may be added during checkout and will be printed on the packing slip included in the shipment.

What payment methods do you accept?

We currently accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and PayPal. Additional payment methods may be added in the future.

How will I receive order updates and tracking information?

Once a shipping label is created, you will receive an email containing your tracking number. Additional email notifications will be sent when your order is in transit, out for delivery, and delivered. Please check your spam or junk folder to ensure you receive all notifications.

Is a signature required for delivery?

For residential deliveries, carriers are generally authorized to leave packages without a signature to avoid delays that could cause melting.

For business addresses, some carriers may require a signature, or someone present to receive the delivery. Blue Bell is not responsible for loss or damage if a package is delivered outside normal business hours, and no recipient is available.

Can I cancel or modify my order after placing it?

No. Due to the perishable nature of ice cream, all orders are final once placed. Returns, modifications, and cancellations are not permitted. If you have questions, please contact Customer Service.

What is your refund or reshipment policy?

Because ice cream is highly perishable, occasional shipping issues may occur. While we’re unable to accept returns, we want to make things right if there’s any problem with your order. Please contact our Customer Service team as soon as possible, and we’ll do our best to assist you.

When reaching out, be sure to have photos of the damaged product available to help our team assess the issue. Orders determined to be unsuccessful may qualify for either a refund or a reshipment.

To be eligible, Customer Service must be contacted within 7 days of delivery.

Will I be asked to provide feedback on my order?

After delivery, you may receive an email to complete a brief order survey. Feedback is appreciated and helps us improve the online ordering experience.

Can I order Blue Bell merchandise with ice cream?

Blue Bell merchandise, such as t-shirts, magnets, koolies and mugs is available through our online Country Store. Ice cream and merchandise orders must be placed separately and cannot be combined into a single shipment.
