BRENHAM - In honor of this year’s National Ice Cream Month Blue Bell Creameries will delight chocoholics everywhere with the introduction of Nutty Chocolate Ice Cream - a rich chocolate ice cream loaded with milk chocolate coated pecans, dark chocolate coated peanuts, white chocolate coated almonds and roasted walnuts.

In 1984, President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month and the third Sunday of the month as National Ice Cream Day. He called for all U.S. citizens to celebrate the frozen treat.

“A bowl of Blue Bell Ice Cream is the perfect way to observe National Ice Cream Month,” said Paul Kruse, Blue Bell CEO and president. “Each year we release a new flavor in July to honor the occasion. We celebrate ice cream every day at Blue Bell. But July give us a reason to indulge a bit more in our favorite treat.”

Blue Bell offers a wide variety of ice cream flavors, making something for just about everyone to enjoy during National Ice Cream Month. There is the number one selling Homemade Vanilla, created to taste just like you hand-cranked it on your back porch, or Moo-llennium Crunch for those who like a like bit of everything in their ice cream. If it’s fruit you like, try Peaches & Homemade Vanilla or Strawberry Cheesecake.

“I might just have a different flavor every day for National Ice Cream Month,” Kruse said. “I think I’ll start with Nutty Chocolate. It’s the perfect chocolate ice cream combined with almost every kind of nut you could possibly want. And, the chocolate coating makes it all that much better.”

Nutty Chocolate Ice Cream is now available in your grocer’s freezer.
