Blue Bell combines sweet and salty in new flavor, Sea Salt Caramel Ice Cream



BRENHAM - The newest creation from Blue Bell is sweet, of course, and a little salty too, and oh so delicious! Sea Salt Caramel Ice Cream will debut in stores in March, and will only be sold for a limited time.

Sea Salt Caramel is a creamy vanilla ice cream surrounded by a tasty salted caramel sauce swirl.

“The vanilla ice cream and salted caramel mix together perfectly for a very enjoyable, delicious flavor,” said Christy Moran, research and development manager for Blue Bell. “And the sweet and salty combination works quite well in ice cream too.”

Salted caramel, which originated in France, has become very popular in the United States over the past several years. Aside from the salted caramel candy itself, the two flavors together have inspired many food creations including cupcakes, drinks and of course Blue Bell Ice Cream.

“The concept of using sea salt is a big trend everywhere in the food industry right now,” Moran said. “It was definitely something we wanted to try. Our Sea Salt Caramel is a simple flavor combining only the ice cream and salted caramel; with no other ingredients mixed in. We think you will agree that it tastes great.”
