Blue Bell Creameries receives Texas Historical Marker
A special dedication ceremony was held at Blue Bell Creameries in Brenham, Texas,
on February 15, to unveil the company's Texas Historical Marker.
The Texas Historical Commission granted Blue Bell Creameries a Texas Historical
Marker in recognition of the company's 100 years in business.
Jane Barnhill, vice chair of the Texas Historical Commission, helped unveil the
marker along with Blue Bell personnel Howard Kruse, president emeritus, Ed Kruse,
chairman of the board and Paul Kruse, CEO and president.
"It is an honor to have a Texas Historical Marker placed here at Blue Bell headquarters,"
Paul Kruse said. "It stands as a permanent reminder of what this little creamery
has accomplished. Blue Bell would have never made it to 100 years without the hard
work and dedication put forth by each and every employee."
Numerous historical makers have been placed across the state of Texas. Markers have
been designated for the history and architecture of houses, commercial and public
buildings, religious congregations and events that changed the course of local and
state history. Also, markers have been granted in honor of individuals who have
made lasting contributions to the state, community organizations and businesses,
military sites, and many more. Applicants must meet strict criteria before receiving
a historical marker.
