BLUE BELL AUTHOR TO SIGN BOOKS

Dorothy MacInerney

Dorothy McLeod MacInerney author of Blue Bell Ice Cream: A Century at the Little Creamery in Brenham, Texas, 1907-2007 will be appearing at various locations this year to sign copies of the book.

MacInerney spent 18 months researching the history of Blue Bell for this 160-page book featuring historical photos, factual information and stories from employees.

She earned a Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, and her publishing credits include articles contributed to American National Biography, Southwestern Historical Quarterly, Alabama Heritage, and other historical journals. She has also taught math and computers in Houston public and private schools.

The author resides in Austin, Texas, with her husband, Ed, and they are blessed with three sons, their wives, and seven grandchildren. Allergic to chocolate, she says her favorite Blue Bell flavor is Strawberries & Homemade Vanilla- although Pecan Pralines ’n Cream and Strawberry Shortcake follow close behind!
