100th Anniversary

Every birthday deserves a party, but a 100th birthday calls for a mass celebration!
Blue Bell drew more than 30,000 visitors to the small town of Brenham, Texas, July
19-21, for A Day in the Country. The event, which was free to the public, offered
more than 40 flavors of Blue Bell Ice Cream, games for kids, various displays with
information about Blue Bell and entertainment throughout the three days.
Belle the famous Blue Bell mascot and the Country Girl were on hand to take photos
with visitors. Belle has appeared in numerous Blue Bell television commercials and
print material. She lives at the Jersey Barnyard in LaGrange, Texas. The Country
Girl, the official Blue Bell ambassador, travels across the company’s sales territory
promoting Blue Bell and its products.
Ice cream lovers lined up for a scoop of Blue Bell Ice Cream. A Day in the Country
offered all the ice cream and frozen snacks you could eat for FREE! On July 20,
Southern Hospitality Ice Cream, the winning flavor in the Taste of the Country Flavor
Naming Contest, was served for the very first time. Look for it in stores later
this year or early next year!
Radio Disney got everyone off their feet and dancing in the Kid Zone. Throughout
the day the energetic troupe entertained kids and their parents.
Kids had an opportunity to create their own ice cream bar. Chocolate sauce, sprinkles
and other goodies were used to make some unique frozen snacks.
Visitors could participate in a Blue Bell taste panel. A taste panel is used to
evaluate flavor, body and texture, meltdown and the color and appearance of ice
cream. Blue Bell employees take part in taste panels each week to ensure our ice
cream is “the best ice cream in the country.”
The Kid Zone featured games, bounce houses and Radio Disney. A milking race was
one of the many fun activities. Raffle drawings were held throughout the day in
the Kid Zone. All children received a gift upon exit from the event.
Belle's Design Shop was a big hit with all ages. Kids and adults could pick their
favorite temporary tatoo. Designs included ice cream cones, Belle the cow and the
Blue Bell flower.
A unique train display featured the original and new Blue Bell factories that are
located in the company's birthplace of Brenham, Texas.
