Centennial flavors now available from Blue Bell

In honor of the company’s 100th Anniversary, Blue Bell Creameries has introduced two new ice cream flavors, Century Sundae and Anniversary Cake.

Century Sundae was introduced in January and has quickly become a top-selling flavor. It combines the company’s number one seller, Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream with swirls of caramel and chocolate sauces, a whipped topping and diced maraschino cherries.

"Century Sundae was the perfect flavor to begin the fun-filled year," said Paul Kruse, Blue Bell CEO and president. "We’ve combined the basic toppings of a sundae with our great tasting ice cream. We've been making ice cream for nearly 100 years and the sundae has been around even longer. I think we've got a winning combination. I know Blue Bell fans will enjoy this new ice cream as much as they have enjoyed the various frozen treats we have created over the years."

The second flavor, Anniversary Cake Ice Cream was released in July. Anniversary Cake combines flavorful almond ice cream with delicious white cake pieces and a swirl of rich amaretto cream cheese icing.

“You can't celebrate an anniversary without a piece of cake,” Kruse said. “How fitting for an ice cream company to celebrate this momentous birthday by combining the cake and ice cream. This year will be one of the most exciting for our company.”

The centennial flavors are easy to spot on freezer shelves. Both are packaged in a specially designed commemorative half gallon container. The half gallons feature 100 birthday candles with Blue Bell 100th Anniversary logos placed on the side and lid of the carton.

"Since this is the company's 100th anniversary we wanted to do something special," Kruse said. "The gold logo was designed specifically for 2007. It will appear just about everywhere you see our logo this year. The candles were just a natural choice since we are celebrating our 100th birthday."

Both flavors are now available in your grocer's freezer.
